E-Max Crown #8

Project type

Fixed Prosthetics

Date

2026

A 46-year-old male presented following completion of root canal therapy on tooth #8, requiring definitive coronal restoration. An all-ceramic E-max crown was treatment-planned to restore structural integrity while achieving optimal anterior esthetics.

A digital laser scanner was utilized to capture the final impression, allowing for precise digital workflow and communication with the laboratory. The patient attended an in-person laboratory appointment for custom shade matching to ensure seamless integration with the adjacent dentition.

At crown delivery, the restoration demonstrated ideal morphology and anatomy; however, the incisal edge was over-extended intraorally, resulting in a less natural appearance within the patient’s smile. Chairside occlusal and esthetic refinements were performed to adjust incisal length, improve harmony with the surrounding dentition, and optimize functional contact.

The final restoration achieved a balance between esthetics and function, and the patient reported high satisfaction with both the appearance and performance of the crown.
