PFM Bridge #29-31

87-year-old female presented with secondary caries associated with an existing fixed dental bridge. The existing prosthesis was sectioned and removed to allow proper evaluation of the abutment teeth. Following removal of the bridge, caries excavation was completed and the remaining tooth structure was assessed. Core build-ups were placed to restore structural integrity of the abutment teeth.

The abutment teeth were then prepared for a new fixed partial denture and final impressions were obtained. A porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) bridge was fabricated. A metal framework try-in appointment was completed to verify marginal fit, passive seating, and occlusion prior to porcelain application.

Following laboratory completion of the porcelain layering, the final bridge was delivered and cemented. Occlusion, contacts, and esthetics were verified at delivery, and the patient was satisfied with the final restoration and function.
