Full Mouth Extraction, Alveoplasty, and Complete Denture Rehabilitation
Project type
Removeable Prosthetics
Date
2025
A 68-year-old female presented with non-restorable remaining dentition secondary to extensive caries, periodontal disease, and structural breakdown. After comprehensive clinical and radiographic evaluation, a full-mouth extraction with alveoplasty followed by fabrication of maxillary and mandibular complete dentures (CD/CD) was treatment planned to restore function, comfort, and esthetics.
Extractions were performed atraumatically with careful preservation of available bone. Alveoplasty was completed in all quadrants to smooth irregular ridge contours and establish an ideal foundation for future prosthetic adaptation. Special attention was given to ridge form, undercut reduction, and soft tissue management to optimize denture stability and long-term comfort.
Following appropriate healing, conventional complete denture protocols were carried out, including border molding, final impressions, jaw relation records, tooth selection, and esthetic try-in. Phonetics, lip support, midline, smile line, and occlusal vertical dimension were carefully evaluated to achieve a natural and functional result.
At delivery, the patient demonstrated improved facial support, stable occlusion, and restored masticatory function. Post-insertion adjustments were completed as needed, and the patient expressed high satisfaction with both esthetics and comfort.
